As we have made clear in previous postings, our "Predict-A-Win" Program does not attempt to make predictions for when either team ends up playing with less than 11 men on the field. The Bookies' Odds too are based on 11 men on both sides playing for the full 90 minutes. This is because it would be impossible to make predictions for the billions of possible permutations of players who could be off the field, coupled with the length of time they weren't playing for. So, if you are aware that a team is playing with a reduced number of men too often for your liking (for whatever reasons), then it is best to avoid betting on that team, otherwise they will not only have let themselves down, they will most likely have very badly let you down as well! Some of such teams perhaps have a chance of recovering their fortunes later in the season. But you might not be half so lucky!
So what you should do is week is check before putting a bet on to see just how dirty the team is that you will be relying on to win. The "dirtiness" factor won't matter so much if it only involves the team you hope will lose, because it will only benefit the team you fancy! A good website to help you dig up the dirt on the teams is foxsports.com/soccer (under the "team-stats" section), because it will quickly help you identify the teams to beware of. And remember, it's not just the red cards you need to be wary of – the yellow cards can do you in just as easily too!
Now, there are 7 matches shown on our Home screen this weekend as potential Home Team winners (as per the Bookies Odds), plus our "Predict-A-Win" Program expects the same results too (based on both teams in each match performing in line with their performances last season, and both teams fielding 11 men for the full 90 minutes). Not only that, but the Bookies obviously don’t expect any of the Away Teams to score any goals at all. We can see that by the Odds for the Correct Scores - but you will only be able to check that out for yourself easily if you are a subscribing member and have access to our data! Added to that, the Bookies' Odds for the "No, Both Teams Will Not Score" bet also support our observation that the Bookies do not expect the Away Teams to score (other than for the Greek match, Olympiakos P v Larissa, where no Odds either way were available at the time of us posting this Comment).
This is the first week in the new season for the teams in the Italian, Spanish and German Divisions, and sometimes there are horrible surprises in the first few weeks when there really shouldn't be (just look at the outcome of the Chelsea v Burnley match last weekend if you don’t believe us). But if you have faith that Juventus, Barcelona, Paris SG, FC Porto, Benfica and Bayern Munich will all perform as the Bookies and our "Predict-A-Win" Program expect, then an accumulator win for all 6 teams winning will give you Odds of – wait for it – 2.64. Yes, that's it, the glorious sum of £2.64 back for every £1.00 you wager! The chance of all 6 teams being winners is in fact less than 25%, but you will only get back the equivalent of the chances having been as high as 37.88%!
Now, if you really do have confidence in those 6 top teams doing the business and shutting the opposition out, you could place a 6 match accumulator bet on the "No, Both Teams Will Not Score" call. The Odds there will be 18.35, including the more dodgy call on the Bayern Munich v Bayer Leverkusen match. But even dropping that last call will reap you Odds of 9.40. So just how much faith do you have in those 5 (or 6) top teams performing as the Bookies expect them to? Do let us know, please.
